8 Ways to Incorporate the Pantone Color of the Year for 2020 in Your Home

I'm always watching and excited for the launch of the new color of the year from Pantone. This year we were met with a beautiful rich blue color that I couldn't love more.

Pantone stated with the launch "As technology continues to race ahead of the human ability to process it all, it is easy to understand why we gravitate to colors that are honest and offer the promise of protection. Non-aggressive and easily relatable, the trusted PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue lends itself to relaxed interaction. Associated with the return of another day, this universal favorite is comfortably embraced."

Meet Pantone's 2020 color of the year: Classic Blue

We've seen ourselves the rise in popularity for the color blue, and are more than on board for this trend. Blue has such a calming presence wherever you put it, and what better place to present the color blue than in your own home?

I've put together a list of 10 ways to introduce the new Pantone Color of the Year 2020 into your home to greet you with calm after a busy day out in the world.

1. Cabinetry

Keep the kitchen calm by adding dark blue base cabinets or an island. The blue cabinets will really make a statement in your space and set your kitchen apart from everyone else's. I love this deep blue color in any style of kitchen!

2. Add an Accent Wall

Accent walls are a really fun way to add a pop of color in any room of your home. It's affordable and very easy to change out if you ever change your mind about the color. Add an accent wall in your living room behind the couch, TV, or fireplace, in the bedroom behind your bed, or in anywhere you see fit!

3. Come Home to Color

I absolutely adore a colored doorway. And what better color to come home to than a calming dark blue to set the tone for your time at home?! This dark blue door next to white walls makes such a beautiful statement in this home.

4. Change out Your Bedding

Your bedroom should be a sanctuary you come to at the end of the day to relax and unwind after a long day. Swap out your current bedding to include a dark blue and natural elements to bring the calm into your bedroom.

5. Paint the Exterior

A navy exterior with white trims really stands out in a beautiful way and makes a statement with your house. I love the wicker chair and clay pot accents to bring in some natural elements as well!

6. Switch Up the Artwork

If you're scared of commitment to something more permanent, or rent your space then adding dark blue accents to your home can easily be done with artwork! I love these indigo dye style prints with natural wood frames.

7. Say it with Tile

Tile is great for its diversity. You can find just about any kind of tile for your floors, shower, or backsplash and create a completely different look depending on what you pick. Add a fun dark blue tile to your home to switch it up and bring the blue hue in.

8. Update the Fireplace

A dark and moody fireplace against light grey or white walls gives the whole room a beautiful focal point. I love to pair a painted fireplace with a wooden mantel as well!
